Initial Consultation & Suitability Discussion
We welcome discussions with schools, Local Authorities and education professionals who are considering a placement at The Orchard Equine College.
A consultation allows us to explore learner needs, suitability, capacity and commissioning routes before progressing to a formal referral.

Parents and carers are welcome to make an initial enquiry; however, all placements must be accessed through professional commissioning routes.

During an initial conversation, we can explore:
• The learner’s profile and presenting needs
• Suitability of Reins & Roots or Accredited Pathways
• Alternative Provision or Post-16 routes
• EHCP considerations (where applicable)
• Capacity and availability
• Commissioning process and funding routes
This discussion does not guarantee a placement but supports informed decision-making for all parties.

Once you have submitted the enquiry form, our team will review the information provided.
If the learner appears suitable and capacity is available, we will guide you through the next stages of the process, which may include:
• Completion of the formal referral form
• Internal suitability review
• A visit or Meet & Discover session
• Issuing of a placement agreement (where appropriate)
Our priority is always to ensure that placements are safe, appropriate and sustainable for both the learner and the wider provision.
