Animal Care Assessor / Tutor (Part-Time)

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Animal Care Assessor / Tutor (Part-Time).

This role involves supporting learners to develop practical skills, knowledge and confidence within our animal care and land-based pathways, delivering a structured and engaging learning experience in a supportive, hands-on environment.

This role is based within our specialist provision and requires a commitment to supporting learners with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and vocational learning within animal care provision

  • Support learners to develop skills, confidence and independence

  • Contribute to planning and delivering structured sessions

  • Assess learner progress in line with programme requirements

  • Support learners with a range of needs, including SEND and SEMH

  • Maintain high standards of animal welfare and safe practice

  • Work collaboratively as part of a consistent, supportive team

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in animal care or land-based practice

  • Confident supporting young people in a learning environment

  • Calm, patient and able to build positive relationships

  • Organised and able to work within a structured framework

  • Committed to safeguarding, welfare and professional standards

Experience in SEND, SEMH or alternative provision is highly desirable.

Yard Staff (Part-Time)

We are seeking an experienced, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as Yard Staff (Part-Time).

This role involves supporting the daily care and management of our horses whilst maintaining the exceptionally high standards expected across our equine provision. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of the yard and help maintain a safe, professional and welcoming environment for learners, staff and visitors.

This role is based within our specialist educational provision and requires a commitment to supporting learners with additional needs whilst maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare and yard management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mucking out to an exceptionally high standard

  • Maintaining immaculate stables, including regular rotation, turnover and presentation

  • Preparing and distributing feeds and forage

  • Checking, filling and maintaining water supplies

  • Grooming and general horse care

  • Turning out and bringing in horses

  • Monitoring horse health, welfare and behaviour

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard environment

  • Supporting learners appropriately within the yard environment

  • Lunging and riding horses where appropriate and dependent upon experience

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in horse care and stable management

  • Confident handling a variety of horses with different temperaments and abilities

  • Professional, reliable and able to work independently

  • Organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Committed to maintaining exceptionally high standards

  • Passionate about horse welfare and best practice

  • Able to contribute positively within an educational environment

Experience supporting young people, SEND learners or working within an educational setting is highly desirable.
