About the Meet & Discover Days

Our Meet & Discover Days are designed for young people who have been referred to The Orchard Equine College by their school or Local Authority, as part of the assessment and commissioning process.

These days give referred learners the opportunity to experience life at The Orchard in a supportive, hands-on environment. During the visit, young people will:

• Meet members of our staff team

• Explore the facilities

• Take part in practical yard-based activities

• Learn more about our equine and vocational programmes

• See what a typical day at the College looks like

Meet & Discover Days help us, alongside schools and Local Authorities, to assess whether The Orchard is a suitable provision for the learner.

Who Can Attend

Meet & Discover Days are available to:

• Learners aged 8–16 following referral as Alternative Provision, and

• Learners aged 16–25 following referral through the EHCP consultation process

Attendance is by referral only.
These events are not open days and are not available via private or parent-funded routes.

Parents and carers are welcome to make an initial enquiry; however, a formal referral must be in place before a Meet & Discover Day can be confirmed.
