The Orchard Equine College
The Orchard Equine College provides vocational, equine-based education for learners aged 12 and over, offering both a Level 1 programme for ages 12–16 and a full Post-16 provision. As a City & Guilds approved centre and accredited alternative provision provider, we create structured pathways into recognised qualifications, practical skill development and equine industry careers.
Level 1 (Ages 12–16)
Our Level 1 programme is designed for younger learners who are ready to begin formal equine training. It introduces essential horse care skills, safe handling, yard routines and foundational knowledge in a supportive, practical environment. This programme provides an ideal stepping stone into further vocational learning or progression to higher-level qualifications at 16+.
Post-16 Provision
Our Post-16 offer provides a flexible and accessible vocational route for young adults seeking a practical alternative to traditional education. Learners can progress through City & Guilds Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Horse Care & Management qualifications, alongside coaching preparation, functional skills (where applicable), development skills and real-world equine experience.

The Orchard EC Level 1 in Horse Care Diploma
